Theme: "What I'm Grateful For"

Calling all Buckeye Union School District students!

Let’s share our gratitude! Let’s create art to show each other some of the good things that help to brighten our lives, and for which we are grateful!

Prizes will be awarded to for the top scoring artwork in each grade level! Judging will be conducted by our partnering sponsor, the El Dorado Hills Arts Association. Thank you EDHAA!

Top scoring student artists will be invited to have their artwork displayed at the El Dorado County Library, El Dorado Hills Branch!

*Deadline to enter: Wednesday, November 9, 2022*

Official Rules:

  • Artist must be a Tk-8th grade Buckeye Union School District student. 

  • Artist must have parent/guardian permission to enter. Parent/guardian shows permission by submitting student's entry via parent/guardian email. 

  • Entries must be received by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

  • To enter, take a picture of your artwork in .jpg or .png digital format, and email it to events@buckeyefoundation.org, along with the following information:

    1. Artist's Information​

      • Name

      • Grade Level

      • School

      • Teacher (Homeroom)

    2. Title of Artwork

    3. Medium or technique used (i.e. crayon on paper, ANY medium you choose is allowed!)

    4. Artist Note (optional but appreciated - for example: What was the inspiration for your artwork? What were you trying to convey? What is your message to the world?)​​​​

  • Art must be completed entirely by the student, though use of any art tools (including online tutorials that show you how to draw an image) is allowed. 

  • Artists may submit multiple entries! (Enter as many times as you would like!)

  • Art will be scored based on the following:

    • Creativity​

    • Visual Appeal (We recommend using bright colors and strong lines to make your art look its best!)

    • Use of Medium (how well you used your chosen materials, including technique, neatness, and craftsmanship)

    • Composition (how well you filled the space)

    • Interpretation of the theme "What I'm Grateful For" 

  • ​The top scoring artist in each grade level will receive the top honor and prize package. In the event of a tied score, a tie-breaker round of judging will be conducted. All participants will receive a certificate of participation​!
